Lodge visits, meetings and more. Keep up with your TESA President & President-Elect.
Hello TEXAS ELKS!
I am proud and honored to serve as TESA State President for the 2024/2025 year!
For those who may not know me personally, I am a 15-year member of the Marshall Elks Lodge #683 and I have served as Trustee, Secretary and Exalted Ruler. At the district level I was elected Interlodge Vice Chair and Vice President and I also served as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for two terms, during the pandemic. Over the years, I have led and supported many committees and I have a strong desire to teach and mentor newer members.
I am married to John, our Furst Rednek, and we live in Waskom, Texas on a small farm. We have three children and 4 beautiful grand girls. Our roots run deep with the Elks, as we have parents, children and siblings who are also Elk members. Our grands have grown up volunteering and participating in lodge events, and we can't wait until they decide to join.
I have worked for a well-known healthcare company for 27 years and am currently a Senior Director in operations. I am active with our local chamber of commerce and am the current Vice President of the Chamber Ambassador group. I enjoy promoting new / local businesses, networking with community leaders and business owners and representatives and planning, organizing and working city wide festivals and events.
I also joined the WeAlign Council last year partnering with members of the Marshall Economic Development organization, local educators and other business professionals to ensure high school CTE programs align to jobs in the local area. In addition, John and I support 4-H and FFA clubs and help many other organizations that teach youth the importance of working hard, learning new skills and being a leader. All of these organizations offer great avenues to promote Elk programs and recruit new members.
My motto this year is "ordinary people choosing to do extraordinary things". I believe the work that Elks do is truly extraordinary. We change lives with the programs that we offer, the aid we provide to our communities and through the connections we have with our Elk brothers and sisters. If you have ever attended a Friday Youth Award Celebration during State Convention, or a Summer Camp Graduation, you've seen and heard testimonies of how lives have changed, for the better. These are some of the BEST things we do!
We have BIG GOALS this year and I KNOW we can meet these if we work together, push to be bigger and better and remember to ALWAYS promote the good things Texas Elks do.
I look forward to meeting newer members and re-connecting with friends throughout this year. I can't wait to see all of the "extraordinary" things that Texas Elks will accomplish this year.
